Helpful Information for New Patients
Complementary prenatal visits with one of our physicians are offered at your convenience. This is an excellent opportunity to see our office and meet one of our doctors. Take this time to have us answer your questions and discuss our philosophies. The American Academy of Pediatrics highly encourages this visit.

When your baby is born
- Our office will be notified by hospital staff
- One of our physicians will see your baby and you each day in the hospital and arrange the first office visit on discharge (a brief visit to check weight and for jaundice).
- This is usually one – three days post discharge.
- At each visit you will be advised of the next scheduled visit.
- At birth your baby will receive a Vitamin K injection to prevent bleeding (promote blood clotting).
- Before discharge a hepatitis B vaccine will be given.
- At discharge a hearing screen, jaundice (yellow color) test and newborn screening test (for several hereditary metabolic disease) will be done.
On your first office visit
- Separate sick/well waiting rooms are available.
- Although you may have access to other healthcare info every baby/child is different if you have concern or problems that are not addressed contact our office. After hours there is always a R.N. and Doctor available on call.
